Fayetteville Favorites!

Fayetteville Favorites!

jessie.m.helton

Fayetteville, AR is one of the favorite locations for Arkansans to visit for a multitude of reasons. It is the home of the Arkansas Razorbacks, has beautiful scenery, and is know for it’s really fun vibe! As a recent Arkansan, I was new to the hype of Northwest Arkansas and anxious to get to visit and experience the town. After visiting a handful of times, I want to share our Fayetteville favorites to inspire you to take a trip to this cute escape in Northwest Arkansas!

Where To Stay

There are 2 different hotels that Aubrey and I like to stay at, and they fulfill 2 different types of trips. If you’re wanting to be downtown Fayetteville close to campus and Dickson Street then you want to stay at The Graduate. If you would rather be a little off the beaten path and close to the outdoor scene of Fayetteville, then you want to stay at Embassy Suites Northwest Arkansas. Keep reading for details on both!

The Graduate

If you ever have an opportunity to stay at any of The Graduate hotels, take it! This hotel chain is so different and fun that I’ve always enjoyed staying with them no matter the city. To top it all off, they are super-duper pet friendly too! We don’t always bring our pup Cali with us, but if we want to it’s nice to land in a place like this. The Graduate in Fayetteville is right off the main square, and centrally located so that walking to dinner, drinks, or a game is super easy!

Embassy Suites Northwest Arkansas

Embassy Suites Northwest Arkansas is another really excellent hotel choice if visiting the Fayetteville area. It is outside of downtown in the Rogers area, but don’t let that fool you into thinking there’s nothing to do close by. The Top Golf location is a grand total of 5 minutes away, and it literally backs up to the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion where tons of great concerts are held! This Embassy Suites is also pet friendly and we’ve stayed there with Cali before and seen lots of other pups.

Bars & Restaurants

I am a big time foodie, so anytime we travel I’m always on the hunt for great places to eat! Aubrey went to school in Fayetteville, so he knows all the fun bars on Dickson by heart. Over our handful of visits together, we’ve put together our few favorites you can read about below!

Restaurants

One of Aubrey’s favorite places to eat when we’re in Fayetteville is Grub’s. There are a couple of different Grub’s locations, and whether you’re staying downtown or a bit further out you’ll be able to find one easily! If you’re looking for a more upscale restaurant, then Bordinos Restaurant and Wine Bar is a great choice. It is in a beautiful building right on Dickson, and serves some of the most delicious food! Just a few steps from Bordinos is another great, elevated choice for dinner and/or drinks, Theo’s. Aubrey has been to Theo’s before and really highly suggests it, so I hope to get to visit together soon!

Bars

If you’re looking for the bar scene in Fayetteville, it’s on Dickson street! Dickson is the quintessential row of college bars filled to the brim on the weekends. We’ve visited in the on and off seasons, and of course tend to enjoy Dickson when it’s a little quieter since we’re part of the “older” crew now. Our absolutely favorite bar is 21st Amendment because of the upscale vibe, library ladder attached to the bar, and one of the few rooftops on Dickson! Right next door is another fun bar called Yeehawg that is always packed, has a great patio space, and a mechanical “hog” you can ride. There are other bars like Tin Roof (if you know, you know) and Cannibal and Craft that seem to be crowd favorites!

Things To Do

I don’t want to get into a ton of detail here, because honestly this part of the post could go on and on. Basically, no matter what your hobbies are or what you like to do you can find it in Fayetteville! There’s lots of great boutique shops, plenty of food options (as you can tell), and a list of outdoor activities that never ends. In fact, northwest Arkansas has one of the nicest and longest biking paths in the state! I’ve already mentioned activities like Top Golf and if you like concerts, the Walmart AMP is such a fun venue. Farmer’s markets, Christmas lights, sporting events, we can go on forever! Just know, if you can dream it you can find it in Fayetteville.
