Let’s face it, I love active wear! You can check what my work out apparel favorites are by following these links from Free People and Lululemon here. However, my passion for apparel and fitness comes together perfectly with all of the awesome fitness footwear options!
My love for shoes is on a whole other level! Whether is high heels, sneakers, sandals, whatever. I’ve always had a love affair with shoes. Mix that with my love and passion for fitness, and you get a closet FULL of fitness footwear. In this post, I’m going to break down my shoe favorites based on what activities I think they suit best. Take a look at what some of my fitness footwear favorites are here!
NoBull Trainer
When I first started CrossFit, I didn’t really see the need to have specific trainers for those workouts. As time went on, though, I did see where having some flat soled trainers helped with the heavier lifts. My first pair of CrossFit trainers purchased about 4 years ago were NoBull’s, and I’ve loved them ever since! I have multiple pairs, all of which have held up extremely well, and they are still my all time favorite trainer.
Nike Metcon Trainer
Second on my list of favorites for CrossFit trainers is the Nike Metcon. After having a couple of pairs of NoBull’s, I wanted to try something different for variety. I asked for a pair of Nike Metcon’s for Christmas last year, and have really enjoyed them! The NoBull trainers have a little more give, which I like more for actual CrossFit. But, the Metcons have a super flat sole and are just a great, reliable shoe. I wear them a lot in the “regular” gym during leg days and think they do an awesome job!
Side note: there are a couple of Metcon models that had a weird squeaking noise when you walked. I have the Metcon 6’s and have never had that issue, so I it’s the Metcon 5’s or below that you have to watch out for that!
ADIDAS Ultraboost
I love these ADIDAS tennis shoes for their look! I think the Ultraboost shoes are super cute, have great color options, and are pretty comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I will say their ultimate test was Disney World, and my feet were still killing me at the end of those long days. To be fair, though, I don’t know that there’s any shoe that can take on Disney with no blisters or sore feet! I wear these shoes a lot of the time with athleisure wear or during upper body days at the gym.
On Cloud
I don’t list a particular On Cloud option here because I literally love them all! I’ve had two pairs myself that are hands down the best running shoe I’ve ever worn. My best friend Leslie that is a true runner at heart has multiple pairs of these that she loves for running, training, and athleisure wear! Even when I was shopping for hiking boots for Iceland, On Cloud’s option was #2 on my list. These shoes are great looking, with great support and structure, that are worth every penny of the price tag!
NoBull Runners
Last but not least, my most favorite at the moment! NoBull released their running shoe option around a year or two ago, and they’ve been white hot ever since. I hated how the first round of these looked, but over time they’ve really dialed it in. They have multiple options now, and I ask for a pair of the rip stop runners for Christmas. I wear these shoes multiple times a week, both inside and outside the gym, and love them so much!
Final Thoughts
You can see that I love all different types of shoes for lots of different activities. Depending on what type of training or activities you like to do, hopefully one of these options stands out for your next buy! Truthfully, you can’t miss with any of these!
