Nuuly Review

Renting clothes…it sounds weird right? Clothing rental companies have gotten more and more popular over the last couple of years (thanks Covid) and I have gotten more and more interested in trying them! One site in particular, Nuuly, really caught my attention. After watching from afar for a while, I finally decided that I wanted to give this service a try. Keep reading to see how my experience has gone so far and see if it’s something you might want to try too!

What is Nuuly?

Nuuly is the clothing rental website I have been using over the last couple of months. It works as a monthly subscription service, with your first month coming at a discount. They offer clothing rentals that cover super casual categories all the way to very fancy! You’re able to keep the clothes for a month, not worry about washing them, and simply UPS them back in the packaging they come in when you’re done. I really like the expansive options that this site offers and finally decided to give it a try for our girl’s trip to Miami. After that I was hooked! It’s so simple and easy, honestly I’m mad I haven’t tried this sooner.

My Orders

My first order with Nuuly was for our girl’s trip to Miami. As you can imagine, the outfits I wanted to wear in Miami aren’t necessarily things I would reach for on a regular basis. I couldn’t imagine a better time to try out a rental clothing option! For this trip, I rented things like a full sequin jumpsuit, leather split hem pants, and a couple of really cute tops. I loved every single item that I got and was so excited to get to wear each piece!

Another of my nuuly orders was geared more for “regular” life. I ordered a couple of sweaters and pants to wear for Christmas parties and events I had coming up. I also rented a blazer for a work event I had, which was the perfect excuse. Again, I loved every single piece I got and wore a handful of items more than once!

Check out the pictures below to see some of the pieces I’ve rented:

Pricing

Like I said above, Nuuly is a subscription service. I pay $96.25 after tax to rent 6 pieces of clothing each month. My first month, though, was discounted to $83.36 so you get a little bit of a break. The other really cool thing that this site does is if you love an item that you rent you can buy it at a discounted price! I haven’t personally purchased anything that I’ve rented yet, but I’ve been pretty dang close. The discounts for purchase that I’ve seen can range anywhere from 20%-75% depending on the item. That’s pretty awesome considering these are not cheap brands that you’re renting!

Is It Worth It?

For me, $96 is absolutely worth renting 6 new clothing items every month. It essentially erasing my personal need to buy clothes and it’s a great way to try some high end brands before spending over $200 on an item, like AGOLDE or Free People. This service also helps my anxiety of trying to hunt down the perfect outfit before an event. There are so many options, chances are I can rent multiple outfits and see which one I like best! This service might not be for everyone, but if you like trying new things and don’t necessarily love the price tag that can come with then I highly suggest giving Nuuly a try!
