Club Pilates – Little Rock

Club Pilates - Little Rock

jessie.m.helton

Pilates is a workout that I have almost no experience in, but am super interested in learning more about! I’ve only been to one dedicated Pilates reformer class ever, and it was at the Core Change studio in Knoxville. If you’re interested in my experience there, check out the post here! After moving to Little Rock, I noticed there are a handful of Pilates studios sprinkled around. I’ve been excited to start trying them, and my very first stop is Club Pilates! There are two locations in Little Rock, and I visited the West Little Rock location. Follow along to see my experience and if I would recommend you trying out their Pilates reformer classes!

Little Rock Locations

Like I mentioned above, there are actually 2 Club Pilates locations in the Little Rock area. Club Pilates is also a franchise boutique studio, so if you’re traveling there’s a good chance there might be a studio near you. The location I tried out is the West Little Rock location at 16900 Chenal Parkway Suite 160. This is the same area I’ve talked about before where a ton of really fun, boutique fitness studios are located. It’s a super nice part of Little Rock, so it didn’t surprise me that this studio is located here. In this same complex you can find an Orange Theory and right across the street is the Cyclebar Studio.

The Midtown location is one they recently opened, and is located at 207 N University Avenue Suite 180. This is a different, but also very nice part of town. Depending on where you live or work in the Little Rock area it might be more convenient!

These two locations are about 15 minutes apart. Here’s a Google map view of where you can find them in relation to one another:

The WLR Studio

Not surprisingly, the studio is beautiful! Their signature color is a vibrant blue, and it is such an experience to be in one of the Club Pilates studios. The studio is filled with reformers with really nice, clean equipment. There is also tons of accessory work equipment like a small ballet bar and TRX straps. They have some fun retail for purchase up front, which is something I can never walk away from without looking.

In the back of the studio there are private restrooms and changing rooms, which are clean and great! You do have to walk through the studio to get to them, so be respectful that if there’s a class going on you might need to wait before walking to the bathroom. Up at the front desk there are cubbies where you can place your belongings before walking into the studio to claim your reformer for the day!

The Pilates Reformer Class

Club Pilates has a super inclusive selection of classes based on your level of experience. They prefer to have any brand new client take their 30 minute intro class that they offer on Sundays. Since I have a little bit of experience I signed up for the Reformer Flow 1 Class that is 50 minutes. They designate their classes with a rating between 1 and 2.5.

The instructor for class was super nice and I could tell had plenty of experience instructing. She was very detailed and hands on in her description of the movements during class, and I really enjoyed her! Class started with us lying down on the reformer doing some leg work, then we moved to abs while still lying down. After abs, we moved to leg work with the straps which is when I really feel like I’m in a Pilates class! We did some standing exercises and stretching before finishing with some arm work back on the reformer with the straps.

Here are my Apple Fitness results after class:

Overall, this is definitely a full body workout! You can see my results here coming in around 200 total calories for a 50 minute class. Because these Pilates reformer classes are more slow paced, you shouldn’t see a super high heart rate be recorded. This is an excellent low impact choice for a workout that is still proven to provide really strong results!

Studio Pricing

As with most boutique fitness workouts, Club Pilates memberships tend to be a bit pricey. Their Unlimited Monthly Membership comes in at $199/month, and they also offer class pack options. The 4 class per month option is $89/month and the 8 class option comes in at $159/month. In my opinion, that’s expensive. I current do the 8 class per month membership with Orange Theory at $99/month. However, Club Pilates does have a $25 drop in option if you every wanted to sprinkle it in with whatever your current workout routine is! They do your first class free in studio, though, so no matter what you have the opportunity to try before you buy any package!

Final Thoughts

Do I love this workout and studio as a fun, alternate option in my workout routine? YES! Do I think it’s a bit pricey? That’s up to you and what your budget is for fitness. For me, I will just pay the drop in fee to add this to my routine every now and then. The girls I met are so sweet and I know they work hard to provide a great experience for their clients. For someone looking for a low impact, high results workout with lots of really excellent benefits then this might be an great option to have as a monthly membership!
