The Kimpton Fitzroy – London, UK

The Kimpton Fitzroy - London, UK

Our first stop on our 2 week trip to Europe this summer was London, and we had the best time!  Navigating the city and seeing all the variety it has to offer was amazing.  One of our favorite parts about our stay in London was most definitely our hotel!  We chose to stay at the Kimpton Fitzroy in Central London and absolutely loved it.  Keep reading for lots of the details and photos from our stay!

The Location

The Kimpton Fitzroy is in the lovely Bloomsbury and Russell Square neighborhoods of Central London.  It is super convenient to multiple metro stations, Russell Square station being literally right around the corner.  You’re able to walk to a lot of different points of interest from the hotel, and also have no problem finding taxis or Ubers to and from. It is within both walking or driving distance, depending on whether you’re towing luggage, to multiple train stations that we personally took advantage of!

Regarding food and drink options, this hotel is central to a ton of options! My favorite coffee shop of the entire trip (which I visited every day we were in London) called Noxy Bro’s was right across the street.  We also walked to multiple breakfast and dinner options easily over the handful of days we were there.  If you’re wanting to stay on this side of the river, I’m not sure you’ll find a better location!

The Room

We were very lucky and excited to be upgraded to a suite after arriving to the Kimpton Fitzroy.  I’m sure the room we booked originally would have also been great, but the suite we stayed in was incredible.  We had a large living room and dining area with a half bathroom in the front part of the suite.  The master bedroom had a huge closet, gorgeous soaking tub facing the park, and a really great master bathroom!  You don’t have to take my word for it, just swipe through some of these pictures to see.

The Hotel & Staff

Cutting to the chase, this hotel is gorgeous, and their staff are incredible. Period.  However, I would love to expand and give you more detail!  I’ve already mentioned how excited we were to be upgraded upon arrival, which was very kind of them.  We also had nothing but pleasant interactions with anyone working at the hotel the entire time we were there.  They were kind, urgent, and happy to help with anything we needed!  We were even given a small tour of their event space just by asking a few questions, which was a blast.

The hotel itself has a couple of restaurant and bar options.  Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try them all.  But, the few that we did get to visit were great!  The building is old-world and beautiful inside and out while the rooms are updated with a modern feel.  Everything about this hotel says boutique luxury, while also having plenty of room options and keeping their price reasonable.  Here are a few pictures we took walking through the hotel for you to be able to see for yourself!

Final Thoughts

I’m sure you can tell by now that I truly cannot recommend the Kimpton Fitzroy enough.  We stayed in a lot of amazing hotels throughout our trip, and Aubrey and I both agree that this is one of our favorite we would love to visit again.  If you’re planning on traveling to London, follow this link to check out the Kimpton Fitzroy as an option for your stay.  I promise, you won’t regret it!
