We are finally to the grand finale of our Europe trip breakdown posts, and just in time! We leave THIS Friday and are so excited we can hardly stand it! Our final stop on our 2 weeks in Europe is a city I’ve dreamed of visiting for a long time, Rome. Last summer when Aubrey and I started building the idea of this trip I knew I wanted Rome to be on the list. I am so excited to go over the details of our final stop!
Logistics
I haven’t gone into this much on some of our stops around Europe, but we are going to be taking a couple “local” flights during our trip. The first flight is from Paris to Venice, then Venice to Monaco, and finally from Monaco to Rome. I have absolutely no idea how flying on European airlines is going to go, but I’m excited for the opportunity to figure it out! Fingers crossed it’s close enough to all of the flying we’ve done before that we don’t end up totally lost. It does work in our favor that these are all direct flights, so stay tuned for details!
Hotel
The hotel we’re staying at in Rome is actually the only hotel that would let us pay ahead of our stay, which we were all about! We usually like to be all paid up before vacation so that we can just sit back and enjoy, so this time it will be a little different. Our beautiful final hotel is called The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel. It is an Autograph Collection hotel, and if you’ve ever stayed in an Autograph hotel you know how beautiful they are! We are a literal stones throw from the Pantheon, and the views are incredible.
On a side note, I’m extra excited about this room because we booked the spa suite. Our bathroom includes a deep soaker jacuzzi tub, an enormous shower, and a sauna. I figure by the last few days of our 2 week trip, we’ll desperately need some r&r.
Activities
We’ve got almost 3 full days in Rome, and I absolutely cannot wait to start seeing the sites! We have a decently long list of things we want to see including the Pantheon, which is right across from our hotel, the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Trevi Fountain. Aubrey has also booked us a tour underground to visit the actual catacombs that are under the city. This tour is one of the very few activities we’ve booked in advance and we are really looking forward to it!
Food and Drink
Rome is probably one of the top 2 places I am most excited about for food! It’s also one of the places that I have the most recommendations from friends and family who have travelled or even lived there previously! We don’t have any reservations booked, but do have an amazing list of places that have come highly recommended to try! I’m also hoping we’ll get to find a couple really great bars to try out while in Rome that I can put together for y’all once we’re back.
Final Thoughts
If you’ve made it through all of the other Europe breakdown posts, thank you so much for being here for the finale! We leave in less than 5 days, and I am giddy! I plan to put together all kinds of content with recommendations, do’s and don’t’ s, etc. once we’re back.
If you have any final advice for traveling in Europe, please leave it in the comments for me down below!
